♠ Falcons This Offseason ♠

The Falcons have a lot of work this offseason.  They have to wonder whether Tony Gonzalez will be back or was this season his last.  If this is his last season what will the Falcons do at tight end.  In my opinion Chase Coffman will be a nice replacement to Gonzalez.  The Falcons can also mix him up in a double tight end set with a draft selection on the other side.  They also have to pick up a pass rusher in this draft considering Abraham is their only past threat. There will be a lot of veterans cut to make cap room in 2013 like center Todd McClure, defensive end John Abraham, running back Michael Turner, cornerback Brent Grimes, linebacker Stephen Nicholas, left tackle Sam Baker and safety William Moore.  Some of the players who will not know until after they’ve been supplanted by draft picks. Last season, the Falcons drafted fullback Bradie Ewing and released fullback Ovie Mughelli, saving more than $3 million in salary cap space.  The Falcons have a lot to think about this offseason after coming short of the super bowl this season.

♠ Niners VS Falcons Game To Watch ♠

The Falcons have finally answered the question " Can the Falcons win a playoff game? ".  The Falcons beat the Seahawks 30-28 at home this past Sunday. Matt Ryan and Tony Gonzalez finally got a playoff win in their careers. Will they be able to win again this Sunday against the dangers 49ers? They need to be able to contain the 49er's running quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.  The 49ers ran over the packers last week.  The Falcons have to build of their momentum and come out fighting.  The Falcon defense will be in trouble if John Abraham isn't able play this Sunday.  He is their best pass-rusher on defense and they need him to put pressure on Kaepernick.  The Falcons offense needs to make a statement in this game and keep drives alive in the second half. Last Game, the Falcons offense wasn't doing good in the second half neither was the defense. Colin Kaepernick is a good quarterback and the Falcons will have to stop him along with his dangerous offense. Will the Falcons be in the Superbowl this year only Sunday in the Georgia Dome will tell.

♠ Can The Falcons Stop Hungry Seahawks? ♠

The Falcons play the Seahawks this weekend. This will be the match up of the week.  The Falcons beat the Seahawks in their last meeting 30-28.  That was in 2011 before Ryan Wilson and the improve Seahawk's defense.  The Falcons haven't had much success in the playoffs the last 3 seasons. There is a lot of pressure to win this game and stop that drought. The Falcons offense presents a lot of trouble for the Seahawk's defense in this game. The Seahawks offense also presents trouble for the Falcons. The Falcons defense has been very good this year, but can they stop Ryan Wilson and his high scoring offense? Only the game Sunday will tell.

♠ Falcons and Home Field Advantage ♠

The Falcons are looking at home field advantage if the win one of their final two games.  The Falcons are coming off an opening when against the defending Superbowl champs, the Giants.  The Falcons shutout the Giants 34-0 in the Georgia Dome.  They are needing one more win to have home field advantage until the Superbowl.  The Falcons travel to play the Lions this Saturday.  The Falcons are looking to show all their critics that they can win a playoff game and possibly the Superbowl. The have to take it one step at a time and not get overwhelmed by their record.  They have a team capable of going all the way.  They have been good on defense especially with with one of the best cornerbacks in the league, Brent Grimes out for the season. They are looking for safety William Moore to come back this week after missing the last two games.  The Falcons offense has been finding a lot of success also this season. The Falcons are one of the only two teams in the NFL who are undefeated at home. The other team undefeated at home is the Seahawks.  The Falcons have come a long way, but will they clinch home field advantage and make a run for the Superbowl this season is yet to be answered.

♠ Rematch Of The Year ♠

The Falcons are going to play the Giants this Sunday.  This will be a rematch that will show if the Falcons are ready for the postseason.  The Falcons were beaten by the Giants in the first round of the playoffs last year.  The Falcons only scored 2 points off a safety in that game.  The Falcons are looking to show how much they have grown from their defeat last season.  They will have to do better than they played last week in Carolina.  The Falcons are looking to show how they can rebound from a tough loss, while the Giants are coming of a big win.  I am predicting to be the " Rematch Of The Year ".

♠ Falcons VS Panthers Rematch ♠

Sunday the Falcons travel to play the Panthers.  The Falcons came from behind to beat the Panthers  30-28 earlier this season. The Falcons have been playing very good so far.  They struggled against the Panthers in their first match up this season. The defense came up with a big play to put the hungry Panthers away.  The Falcons have already clinched their division, but are looking to earn home field advantage in the playoffs.  They will have to contain Cam Newton, who has reestablished himself as a mobile quarterback these last few weeks. The Falcons run defense has improved a lot this season, but there are still holes that need to be filled. The Falcons are going to be taken head on by the Panthers in this divisional game. In the NFL records are tossed aside every week. We will see a good game against these two teams Sunday.

♠ Falcons NFC South Champs ♠

The Falcons clinched the NFC South after the Buccaneer lost to the Broncos.  This is the 5th title in franchise history.  They are looking to win a playoff game after being defeated majorly the last 3 seasons.  The Falcons are aiming for the first Superbowl win in Franchise History.  They have a lot to work on, but they have showed improvement week after week. They defeated their hated rivals the Saints Thursday night in the Georgia Dome.  They also ended Drew Brees touchdown streak.  The Falcons still have not played their best football yet.  They travel to play the Panthers and Cam Newton this Sunday. They just need to win 2 of their last 4 games to have home field advantage in the playoffs.
